The facility incorporates the campus’ administration, library, student conseling services, small and large computer labs, lecture rooms, video conference areas, a class that opens for heavy vehicles, kitchen and lounging areas.
At the celebratory morning tea on Tuesday, TAFE Western manager of student hubs Donna Polak said to the students that it’s their facility.
“This space is yours, it doesn’t matter what course you’re doing or how long you’re here,” she said.
“It’s a space where you can come and feel comfortable, study, sit and relax.
“It’s a place for you to find out information about courses that you are thinking about doing or currently studying.
“We’re all located in the one place to support you on your journey through TAFE.”
College team leader Samantha Cosgrove was thanked for her part in the transition to the facility.
