Mr Gee, formerly the state member for Orange, said it was an extremely humbling experience to be sworn in as the Federal Member for Calare.
“The numbers in the House of Representatives are very tight, and nobody knows what the future will bring,” Mr Gee said.
“We need to make sure that the next three years really count, which means getting things done for the people of Calare.
“That’s what elected representatives are here for – getting results for local communities.”
Mr Gee said his priorities included the Murray Darling Medical School, funding for roads and infrastructure and progressing the crossing at Dixon’s Long Point.
Mr Gee has been appointed as Chair of the Government’s Economics and Finance Backbench Committee.
