A kids and Carers Support Group information Day will be held at the Kandos Returned Services Community Club at 10.30am tomorrow, Wednesday September 14 to let the community know the services that are available in our local area for anyone caring for, or who has a disability or is in aged care. All welcome.

Talk like a pirate this Saturday
The Annual Kandos International Talk Like a Pirate Day Festival is on this Saturday, September 17 at the Kandos Community Centre, 12noon-dark. A special tribute to the late Jon English. The Crawfish Stew Band will open the event and a group of talented musicians will play all of his greatest hits.
There’ll be food vendors, market stalls, pirate rides and a fire event just on dark. Entry is $10 for adults and under 16 free.
Kids will love the festival. There’ll be a pirate jumping castle, a swinging pirate ship ride, a treasure hunt, face painting and storytelling.
The Blue Mountains Fencing Group will also perform a couple of competition exhibitions and then giving lessons on the art of fencing.
Annual Charity Day
The Rylstone Club’s Annual Charity Day is on this Saturday, September 17. Come along for golf, bowls and an auction. All money raised goes to local not-for-profit groups.
Community Information Evening
A free community information evening with Dr John England will be held at the Rylstone Club on Tuesday, September 27 at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
The topic is Flutters of the Heart. A complimentary light supper will be proved by Rylstone-Kandos Rotary. Please RSVP by September 16 for catering purposes.

Glen Davis Reunion
The 64th anniversary of the closing of the Glen Davis Shale Oil Refinery will be held on the long weekend of October 1, 2 and 3 at Glen Davis.
