The second annual Chinese Gold Festival will be held in Gulgong over the long weekend on October 1 and 2.

This festival begins on Saturday, October 1 with a parade starting at 11am.
Come and see the new parade dragon lead the parade along Mayne Street before turning up White Street to theHistoric Red Hill Precinct.
Some of the parade entrants will be on show after the parade at the Red Hill Precinct.

After the parade there will be a Chinese market, gold digging and old fashioned games –including sack race, apple bobbing, noughts and crosses, jacks and knuckles.
Chalk drawing, gumboot throwing/toss and tug of war, a martial arts demonstration, Ten Dollar Circus demonstration and a dragon boat display will be some of the family fun at the Red Hill Precinct from 11.30am to 3pm.
At the Gulgong Gold Experience, visitors can try gold panning or check out part of the tunnel that burrows in under Red Hill. Children can try their luck in the “Gold Digging” area once they have purchased a mining license (bring own plastic beach shovel).

On Saturday evening, Home Rule and other local musicians will be sharing their love of traditional Australian Bush music at a Bush Dance at the Gulgong RSL Club from, 7:30pm - 11:30pm.
Entry is a gold coin donation. There will also be raffles and door prizes, food and drink to purchase.
On Sunday, October 2, the Gulgong Turf Club is hosting the Camel Races and Community Fair and Family Fun Day.
Gates open at 9:45am $10 adults and $5 child.
The first camel race is at 11am, and there are market stalls, a gold digging area for children and entertainment by the Ten Dollar Circus.
