After successfully managing 10 years of Mudgee Small Farm Field Days events and growing a wide range of other uses for the Australian Rural Education Centre (AREC) site, general manager Steve Garland is moving on.

“I'm very proud of the things we have achieved at AREC over the past ten years,” Mr Garland said.
“We have established great new infrastructure like the Founders Pavilion, and a range of sustainable building courses that attract participants from right across the country.“ he said.
While the AREC is best known for running the Mudgee Small Farm Field Days, the site now sees many more events running throughout the year,. including the Bike Muster, the Central West Alpaca Show, Motocross events, the Mudgee Men's Shed, Mudgee Wine Show, Equestrian events, antique machinery club activities and camping for large caravan groups.
With the Mudgee Small Farm Field Days celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2017, the new general manager will have plenty to do preparing for this milestone..
