A space has been set aside in the children’s area of the library where parents can take a break or feed their baby.
A microwave, soap, running water, paper towels and wet wipes are available for parents’ convenience.
A change table and nappy disposal bin are available in the library’s bathrooms.
Gulgong resident Sharon Watt tried out new parents’ corner while attending children’s storytime and craft session in the library on Tuesday with her children, aged six months, three and two years.
Sharon said previously she had fed and changed her baby in the car when visiting Mudgee.
“It’s great,” she said. “I don’t come in [to Mudgee] very often but I think I might come and use it occasionally,” she said.
Local parents have frequently called on Mid-Western Regional Council for better facilities for parents than the current space in the Mudgee Town Hall Arcade public toilets.
