The opening pair of Trent Bright and Cameron Cox got the 2015/16 champs’ innings off to a positive start, putting 54 runs on the board before Cox was dismissed for 30.
Bright’s knock of 85 would be the highest of the match and in getting there he found the boundary nine times, two of those he cleared the rope.
First drop Hayden Cox and number-four Jacob Edmonds only added three each.
But a fine 64 by Andrew Best helped stabilise Golf Club and had the total past the 150 mark by the time Bright left the crease.
Matt Cremona fell for a duck before Brian O’Reilly became the third batsman to earn a half century with 55.
The seven wickets were shared among the Bulls’ seven bowlers, with Endacott’s 1/33 off seven dismissing O’Rielly, the most economical considering overs bowled.
O’Reilly bowled opener Kenny for 17 to hinder the Bulls’ run chase early and while Kurtley Golden (60), Will Parker (39), and Tom Lawson (27) tried hard, too many fell cheaply to be all out for 162 in reply.
Golf Club’s bowlers were; Cremona (2/38); Moore (2/19); Edmonds (2/10); Tull (1/26); and O’Reilly (1/25).
In the other Division 1 match, Lawson Park Country accounted for Team 4 chasing down the target set and only losing four wickets in the process.
Opener Jamie Golden would go onto blast 40 to top score for Team 4, however partner Josh Edwards’ dismissal for just 4 when he was at full swing signified what would go wrong for them that afternoon.
Only Killeen (19) and Sheedy (10) would hit double figures, they were all out for 117 that included 20 gifted to them in sundries.
Country’s bowlers were; Flynn (2/16); Volkofsky (2/6); Michael Dowell (1/8); Ash Barrett (1/25); and Robinson (1/5).
Rod Moore (21) and Dowell (16) set about chasing the total and had 46 on the board before the latter was sent back to the sheds.
Moore fell soon after and Ash Barrett only added 3, before top scorer Tim Suttor (44 n.o) and Robinson (29 n.o) guided Country home.
Michael Ford (2/14) and Dave Edwards (2/45) took Team 4’s wickets.
