RSL won the toss and elected to bat, but lost openers Mark Hundy and Jesse Sahyoun for seven runs each, first drop Jared Clulow added 15 and Nathan Lane’s 21 was his side’s top score.
Five fell for a duck in a battling collapse that saw the defending champs all out for 82 – Goolma’s bowlers kicked in more for the total than most of the batsmen with 16 in sundries.
Shaun Doherty’s 4/6 cleaned up the RSL tail, Troy Kenny’s 3/14 killed off any chance of a mid-order resurgence, while the early damage was done by Ashley Honeysett (1/20), Damian Doherty (1/7), and Andus Honeysett (1/17).
Goolma’s chase didn’t get off to a great start, losing opener Jason Warner for six with just seven on the board, Thomas Cooney fell for eight soon after and Ashley Honeysett for 10, all to the bowling of Greg Parish.
However, the combination of Kenny (33 n.o) and Stuart Bromley (25 n.o) guided the visitors to victory.
In the other round 2 match Centennial ran down Coolah’s 158 at Billy Dunn Oval.
The bulk of the runs were shared among Coolah’s Nathan James (29), Nathan Duce (25), Brett Murrell (22 n.o), and Josh James (21).
Tim Papworth took 4/34 off his 9.3 overs, Steve Haney’s full 10 overs saw him take 2/29, and Steve Clark took the remaining two scalps for 54.
Centennial openers Trevor Seis (57) and Dion Hollow (47) laid the foundation for the side’s innings and although losing four batsmen cheaply – for a combined 26 - Alan Seis (10 n.o) and Clark (8 n.o) brought it home.
Bowlers had the second round bye.
