Also in the category, Destination Southern Highlands, Parkes Shire Council, Sydney Outback, Unspoilt South Coast and Wild About Whales.
The NSW Tourism Awards celebrate and acknowledge tourism excellence in NSW. Now in their 27th year, the awards promote and reward tourism businesses that demonstrate outstanding achievement and success throughout the year.
The award categories showcase tourism products and businesses that provide outstanding service and experiences to guests in NSW.
The MRTI marketing campaign is a continuation of the destination re-brand launched in 2015, Mudgee Region Tourism chairman Russell Holden said.
“We’re aiming to help showcase the area’s incredible food and drink offering and bring together the amazing produce, people and places that make up the Mudgee Region.
“It’s an honour to be named a winner at the prestigious NSW Tourism Awards.
“This is a strong indication that we are performing in a manner which reinforces the reality that the Mudgee Region is a sought after destination,” he said.
The “Reset Your senses” campaign encourages visitors to escape their everyday lives amongst Mudgee’s unique surroundings, which include Gulgong, Rylstone and Kandos.
Embarking on a social media, TV, print and digital campaign in 2016, the Mudgee Region promises visitors that they will leave feeling nothing short of refreshed and reset.
Mudgee Region Tourism acting CEO Leianne Murphy said: “We feel that the new direction that we’ve taken with our destination awareness campaign really speaks to the heart of the Mudgee Region and appeals strongly to our targeted audiences”.
Mudgee Region Tourism will compete at the Australian Tourism Awards on February 24.
