Twenty students from Cudgegong Public School took time out to visit the nursing home to sing carols and give handmade Christmas cards to the residents.
The students from grade three and four – also known as the “Kindness Crew” – have been spending one lunch break a week preparing for the visit.
Teacher Rebecca Daniell said it’s our mission to spread kindness throughout our school and community.
“We believe that kindness is contagious.
The Kindness Crew concept was established this year by a group of teachers in Wollongong to inspire random acts of kindness.
They created a kindness calendar, that encourages students to tick off every act of kindness in the lead up-to Christmas.
“So far, our crew has blown bubbles in the school yard for other students and picked flowers from the Cudgegong gardens to give to all the teachers and helpers at the school,” Mrs Daniell said.
“The Kindness Crew really spreads joy throughout our school and community.”
