This exhibition showcases the top HSC works in this area and will be on display at Rosehill Racecourse at the Stitches and Craft show in March 2017.
Bridget created a wall hanging inspired by ‘Alice in Wonderland’.
Textiles and design teacher Cheryl Murray said it’s a marvellous and creative piece of work.
“Every component on Bridget’s work has been hand created,” Mrs Murray said.
“Bridget’s work includes a multitude of quality and creative techniques including fabric marbling, digital printing, dyelon printing, beading, 80 creative embroidered 3D flowers, applique teapot spout and tea cups, silk painted butterflies, pieced 3D teacups and double hand-stitched binding.”
Accompanying Bridget’s work is an exceptional portfolio tracing the development of her ideas and the extensive experimentation completed to develop her skills.
“This is an outstanding achievement for a very hard working and diligent student. Congratulations Bridget,” Mrs Murray said.
A number of other works by Kandos High School students were featured at a showcase of HSC Visual Arts and Textile works at Number 47 Gallery in Rylstone recently with some exceptional pieces on display.
The exhibition attracted a large audience who spent some time viewing the works and discussing them with students.
Showgirls
Leanne Neilsen from the Rylstone Kandos Showgirl Committee is calling for young ladies to enter the 2017 Rylstone Kandos Showgirl Competition.
“We have not had a showgirl for two years now and it would be great to have a representative this year,” Leanne said.
“I would like to invite young ladies aged between 18 years and under 25 years by May 1, 2017 to enter this year’s competition.”
“We are looking for young ladies who would like to be an ambassador for our wonderful community.”
You do not need to be from the land, but you do need to have a passion for community and would like to represent our show society and our community.”
The selection process is an informal interview and luncheon.
You must be able to be present at the 2017 Rylstone Kandos Show.
For further information and nominations please contact Leanne Neilsen on 0419 028 498 by this Friday December 9.
