This first Skills4Trade – an Apprenticeship Employment Network (AEN) Multi Industry School Based Pre-Apprenticeship Support Pilot Project (MIP) Project supported by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training - was a pilot program, and as a result of the overwhelming success of the pilot program Skillset and TAFE are running another round of Skills4Trades in Mudgee starting in February.
There will be three Skills4Trade programs offered in Mudgee; Carpentry, Mining/Electrical/Automotive and Hospitality/Retail.
Skills4Trade is free for people aged 15-19 who have left school.
The program aims to ensure young candidates have entry level skills and are ready for the workplace.
Information sessions will be held in Mudgee from 3pm to 4 pm next Wednesday (December 14) and on Friday, January 20, 2017, from 10.30am to 11.30 am.
Interested participants must register prior to attendance, please call Sarah Turner on 0428 292 869.
In conjunction with the Skills4Trade Skillset Workforce is also running a jobs campaign, Pledge 250, to encourage local businesses to take on a young person.
If you would like to Pledge a Job for a young person’s future then contact Skillset Workforce on 1300 853 525 or email pledge250@skillset.com.au.
