The well-attended event was very much enjoyed by all ladies present.
A special tribute was made to recently deceased Mrs Ethel Nelson, and all other recently deceased widows or veterans.
The organisation also welcomed two new Legatees, who were inducted on the day – Dave Holden and Lou Nicholson.
Throughout the year Legacy has continued its role looking after the families of those lost serving Australia by helping to organise housing, education, medical expenses and important special things, like simple companionship.
In more recent years the service has evolved to accommodate the changing needs of the families they support, including those today affected by Post Traumatic Stress.
The local branch's region, which covers about 105,000 square kilometres, stretching from Capertee to the Queensland border.
Legacy is the only organisation of its type in the world and relies on an army of dedicated volunteers, many of whom are returned servicemen and women, to carry out its vital work.
They estimate that they will be needed until at least 2080 to serve the families of today's veterans and point out that over 60,000 members of the ADF have been deployed since 1999.
