Forty firefighters participated in radio operations, mapping exercises and water drafting techniques.
The highlight of the night was a demonstration of the new Mudgee Category 6 Tanker which carries a massive 9,000 litres of water and can fight fires with its remote-control water canon in addition to serving as a refill point for smaller tankers.
Training exercises such as this help ensure that RFS volunteers from multiple brigades are able to work together smoothly and are familiar with the range of equipment and procedures.
