Mudgee’s St John’s Anglican Church was filled on Friday afternoon with hundreds paying their respects to Mr Les Cook – the former Cudgegong Valley Public School General Assistant.

Family, friends, teachers, parents and students attended the service with a speaker system set up outside to allow for the extended community to bid farewell.
Mr Cook’s family thanked the community for their support on Facebook before the funeral.
“Thank you everyone for your text messages, private messages, phone calls, flowers, hugs and tributes. It really means a lot.”

“In honour of my hero, in true quirky dad form I would love you all to take a photo of your push bike out the front of your home or work with the #RIPmrcook and post it on your wall, in respect for Mr Cook, Les, Leslie, Poppy Cook, daddy dearest, dad.”
Kadie Roberts tagged a photo saying “your stories daily will never be forgotten but sadly missed. I’m so grateful for the little time my boys had to get to know you. We will all miss you.”
