His song "Socks & Jocks" from his latest album "Jim Westwood Halfcut" has made the finals for the comedy song of the year at the Tamworth Songwriters Awards.
His song "Carrying a Keg" also made it to the semi- finals.
Jim has been a finalist in the songwriting awards on five previous occasions.
He draws inspiration for his songs from people and places along the track.
Jim & Rhonda Westwood who now live at Piambong have not missed a Tamworth Country Music Festival in 42 years.
The Mid-Western region will also be represented at the Festival by Brothers3.
They will perform at the Tamworth League’s Club as a headline act during the Festival.
Their first performance is this Sunday, at 1.30pm – they will also perform on Sunday 29.
