Letters to the editor

I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all members of the local Rural Fire Brigades who have been involved with the fighting of the fire last Tuesday north of us at Baker’s Lane, Linburn and at the Kains Flat area at Cooyal since Sunday.

Volunteer members have come from all over the State to help.

Also a special thank you to the ladies who have been providing meals for the firefighters for the past week at Cooyal Hall.

And another special thank you to our local supermarkets who have donated goods for the provision of these meals.

When shopping for goods a lovely lady, Sandra, donated a large amount of cash to men in fire brigade uniform and then to me which I used to help purchase our requirements for the day’s sandwiches.

Sandra had also donated special personal items for those affected by the fires.

Thank you Sandra and all the wonderful people who have helped those needing accommodation and reassurance at this trying time.

Joyce Purtle, Linburn.
