That has been on display again this week as countless people have got in to do what they can to help those affected by bushfires across the central west region of NSW.
Blazes near Dunedoo and Mudgee have wiped out land, stock and homes, and devastated many lives.
NSW Farmers has set up a natural disaster fund aimed at helping those impacted by the fires get back on their feet.
All funds raised from the appeal will go towards the purchase of cattle, which will be fed at the Alexander Downs Feedlot in Merriwa for 80 days.
After that time all the money raised from the sale of the cattle will go towards the appeal.
Mudgee Guardian advertisers and readers are encouraged to support the appeal through donations, big or small.
Any business which donates $500 or more to the appeal will be thanked with a free advertisement in the Mudgee Guardian, as well as receiving a shout out via our Facebook page to say thanks for their generosity.
“The images and stories coming out of the fires have been so tragic. We want to help raise awareness of how to help those impacted and allow them to get their lives back on track,” Sales manager Camille Lyons said.
