The Junior Showgirls Sigrid Germon and Jorden Watts were announced. They then enjoyed the rest of the day with Senior Showgirl Lisa Byfield and Showgirl Entrant Angela Flanagan carrying out Showgirl duties.
Attractions and entertainment included a performance from Step Up Dance Academy, Troppo Bob with his magic tricks, Gulgong Public School’s Ten Dollar Circus, free painting courtesy of Bunnings, Beaut Ute Competition, Animal Nursery, Rodeo, Side Show Alley and Kirk’s Reptiles.
There was a surprise visit from Member for Calare, Andree Gee who engaged with the community and also introduced himself to the committee. He obliged to a singalong with local performers Des Kelly and Vangie Gudgeon.
The Beaut Ute Competition was a success with great support from a number of local clubs and individuals boasting 30 cars, 15 bikes and five trucks on display.
After what was a tough week for many in our region, the Show gave many a chance to get out and have some fun.
The program had a number of changes as many of the volunteers and exhibitors had been effected by the fires in our region and were needed elsewhere.
The public were very understanding. The volunteers on hand dug deep and there was positive feedback from all areas and events.
The fireworks were cancelled on advice from the NSW RFS, but the entertainment continued into the evening with performances from Free Fried Chicken, Des Kelly and Vangie Gudgeon and Troppo Bob.
After a well earned rest The Show Society look forward to planning next year’s Show which will be a special celebration of 130 years of the Gulgong Show.
This is a fantastic community event for all the family. It showcases some of the regions best agricultural produce and skills, animal husbandry, cooking, crafts, artistry and so much more.
