There are just three weeks remaining to apply for round one of Council’s Events Assistance Program. The Program is open to not-for-profit events that are being held in the second half of this year.
Alayna Gleeson, Events Coordinator says that the Program requires events to demonstrate the value they provide to the community.
“The program is designed to provide funding assistance to community events which benefit the local economy and attract visitors to the region.
“We are encouraging event organisers to apply now for funding of up to $2,500 for events taking place from July to December this year. Events taking place in 2018 will have the opportunity to apply for funding in September,” Mrs Gleeson said.
Events that meet the eligibility criteria may apply for funding. All guidelines and criteria are available on the Council website along with an application form.
There are two application and assessment periods for the Events Assistance Program:
While applications may be received outside of these times, funding is not guaranteed.
“The result is an economic boost to local businesses and the community which is why Council recognises that it’s important to provide financial support for events which can demonstrate the benefit they provide,” Mrs Gleeson said.
