Rangers at the Mid-Western Regional Pound have been looking after the Husky cross Shar Pei pups since birth, after their mum turned up at the pound more than two months ago.
Ranger Chris Burns said the birth was a big surprise.
“Mum came in, and we had no idea she was pregnant. She had the litter while she was in the pound.
“The puppies are now seven weeks old. They have been well-handled, vaccinated, wormed, micro-chipped and are now looking for a good home,” he said.
Anyone interested in adopting one of these cute pups is encouraged to contact the pound, but Ranger Burns said they will be vetting the new owners.
“We’ll make sure the new home has a secure yard and good enough to keep the dogs contained, we don’t want them back in the pound,” he said.
The Mid-Western Regional Council pound has other dogs available for adoption. Check our pound page HERE for more information.
