Following the greens’ last trial against Burwood, a number of Emus turned out at the Royal Hotel Invitational Tens last weekend, earning plenty of extra match fitness in the process.
Saturday’s trial, which kicks off at 3pm, will give head coach Paul Ringland one last look at his troops before Emus’ road trip to face Dubbo Rhinos in the season opener next week.
The Rats are thought to be bringing a quality squad, a number of Shute Shield players will turn out alongside predominantly second and third graders.
Emus’ side will be a mixture of all the greens’ grades.
This weekend’s trial also gives former Rat and now Emus star Nick Hughes-Clapp a chance to face his former club.
