The 2017 polocrosse season commenced for the Gulgong club last Saturday and Sunday in Narrabri where a warm up carnival was held.

The carnival enabled players to test their horses’ fitness as well as their own over two matches on each day.
The Gulgong club fielded three teams and proved to be strong contenders for the upcoming season.
The Gulgong A Grade Men and A Grade Women were the winners in their grades, which was a boost to player confidence in the lead up to several major carnivals.
Run in conjunction with the Australian Polocrosse Junior Classic, the Silver Stirrup Ladies Polocrosse Open event will be hosted by the Albury Holbrook Polocrosse Club.
This women's polocrosse competition will feature Skye Anderson and Grace Halstead both from the Gulgong club.
The competition final will be held under lights on the main field at 7pm Saturday, April 15, followed by an award presentation.
The Barastoc Interstate Series will be held in Warwick Queensland from April 21-23 featuring teams from New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.
Gulgong players Nicole Hill, Tom Trisley, Chris Anderson, Clancy Knight and Skye Anderson have been selected to compete against some of the top players from each state.
The Interstate Series will coincide with the one of the biggest events on the polocrosse calendar, the Australia vs South Africa International Test Series, also held in Warwick.
The club will travel to Walcha this coming weekend for their first major carnival for the 2017 season.
