A 22-year-old woman who went on a spree with a stolen cheque book and credit card, was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond and ordered to repay $1102 in Mudgee Local Court.

Jade Rose Kapeen of Church Street, Mudgee, was charged with dishonestly obtain financial advantage and property by deception.
On December 24, 2016, the victim’s house was broken into and their cheque book stolen.
Kapeen attempted to cash a cheque for $1000 on December 28 at Mudgee NAB, which was declined when the victim’s signature didn’t match.
Shortly after she successfully deposited a cheque into her account at the ANZ atm.
A Coles staff member also found a cheque made out to Kapeen for $820.
In the early hours of December 29, the victim’s Visa card was stolen, which Kapeen used for $64.17 and $38 purchases at the BP service station.
