The 2017 season sees the event run a little differently to previous years with all three Championship days held in May over three weekends.
Also different this year is the official re-instatement of the Junior Championships for the first time since 2007, giving junior players a more direct pathway into moving into the senior competitions and beyond.
The days will run with the juniors starting off the day in the morning with the seniors being played in the afternoon.
Early indications show Joshua Meers and Will Wiseman are front-runners to take out one of the Junior Championships with Charlotte Roberts also looking like a potential front runner to take out a Junior Championship.
In the Senior Championships, Sheridan Roth (who won two titles in 2016) and Anna Macdonald look like the favourites in the women's draw.
Meanwhile in the men's draw, Angus Macdonald, Peter Robinson and Nathan Wilkins are names that are likely to be there come semi-final time.
Cameron Anderson and Andrew Channon are both potential dark horses.
Last year’s fixtures saw Nathan Wilkins and Sheridan Roth – who as a team took out the the Mixed Doubles Championship for 2016 earlier in the year – take out the men’s and women’s titles.
Wilkins – favourite for the crown - overcame Cameron Anderson in the final to claim a trophy he said afterwards he’d never collected before.
Roth had a hard fought final against women's runner-up Carolyn Smith en-route to her title, the match starting before the men’s decider and finishing after they were done as well.
Both championships saw new names added to the honours list for 2016 with both 2015 champs Anna MacDonald and Anthony Leung out of action in the season.
Another highlight of last season was the men’s semi-final between Wilkins and Andrew Channon, the latter pushing the eventual champion to a final score of 6-4.
The first Championship day kicks off on May 6 with Junior Mixed Doubles and Men's and Women's Singles.
Junior Singles and Men's and Women's Doubles follow on May 21 and then May 28 sees the Junior Doubles and the Senior Mixed Doubles wrapping up the event.
Interested players are encouraged to register early before May 3.
They can do so by visiting www.tennis.com.au/mudgee and following the links or by putting their name down on the sheet in the clubhouse.
Once again, the 2017 Championships are sponsored by Flight Centre Mudgee, whose ongoing support ensures that the club is able to host the season campaign every year.
