Scott James Fuller, aged 31, of Goddard Street, Coolah, was charged with ‘Contravene prohibition/restriction in Apprehended Violence Order (Domestic)’ and ‘Intimidate police officer in execution of duty’.
The AVO was put into place in Dunedoo Local Court on April 20, 2016, and stated that Fuller not intimidate any of the Persons In Need Of Protection (PINOPs).
On December 28, 2016, Fuller began yelling and swearing at one of the PINOPs over a mobile phone.
Another PINOP left the house and headed to the local police residence to seek help.
Shortly after Fuller arrived and began yelling at the PINOP, when the police officer intervened the defendant began threatening to punch him in the head and told him “you’re dead”.
As he left he said “I’m going to get a shotgun”.
The rest of the PINOPs arrived at the police residence and said Fuller was following them.
He then began threatening the officer again leading to him deploying capsicum spray in an attempt to subdue him.
Fuller ran away again but was tracked down soon after and became apologetic to police.
His legal-aid solicitor, Ms Bleasel, told the court her client was remorseful and the pre-sentence report shows he’s “committed to rehabilitation”.
And that the report was “prepared with the hope of saving Mr Fuller”.
However, Magistrate Terry Lucas told the defendant, “you can’t go around threatening police, there is no other alternative to a full time custodial sentence”.
Fuller has served four months having been bail refused since the incident in December.
