Regional Business of the Year – Recognising the best of the best across all business categories was won by Marathon Health, Bathurst and Dubbo.
Thirteen awards were presented at the Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
Hundreds of Central West business people attended,.Immediate Past President and Board Director of NSW Business Chamber, Tony Dormer, addressed the crowd who travelled from around the region for the prestigious event.
He commended the passion, drive, resilience and hard work of business people that reflects in the prosperity of businesses across the region.
Awards:
Excellence in Small Business: Aden Hotels Group, Gulgong.
Excellence in Business: Double R Equipment Repairs, Mudgee.
Young Business Executive: Cheri Carolan from Slater and Gordon Lawyers, Dubbo.
Young Entrepreneur: Errin Williamson, Church Street Caffe (CSC) , Dubbo.
Business Leader: Amy Shine, Forbes Preschool.
Excellence in Social Enterprise: The Westhaven Association. Christian Greaves, CEO said: “It’s such a great organisation I’d do it for nothing. The 300 people that work for us I just can’t believe how great they are. To be able to get up here tonight and get an award for doing something that you love and helping people so much is just absolutely brilliant.”
Start Up Superstar: Jespresso, Orange. Jespresso will proceed to the state finals in November this year.
Excellence in Innovation: Mudgee Region Tourism – a not-for-profit organisation.
Excellence in Sustainability: Ross Hill Wines, Orange.
Employer of Choice: Marathon Health, Bathurst and Dubbo.
Local Chamber of the Year: Dubbo Chamber of Commerce & Industry! “This isn’t just our award, it’s for our members too and they see value in the service we provide. It’s also an award for our sponsors, those local businesses who generously partner with us on local events and projects. Thank you everyone who provides their service on our board.” Dubbo Chamber president Matt Wright said.
Excellence in Business Ethics – Regional Category: Transforce, Dubbo. “We’re a trucking company, we burn lots of deisel and we’re carbon neutral,” Steve Fieldus, Transforce, said.
