“There were about 40 artists from all over the eastern states and most of them exhibited, so we had both rooms of The Stables filled,” organiser Merilyn Burch-Carney said.
“[The visiting artists] love it here, there’s wonderful things around Mudgee to paint and some of them come back year after year.
“I try to get them a feel for Mudgee, so we go to a winery, a historic house, another venue so this year we went to a farm, and a village this time it was Gulgong.”
And after a decade and a half they haven’t run out of locations.
“It’s a beautiful place to paint - there’s the river, mountains in the background, lots of historic buildings, beautiful old gum trees, it’s got everything,” she said.
