The proprietors of Stacks Down Under made a window in Mayne Street available for this, nearby the IGA supermarket where many people could see as they walked by.
Members hoped to raise awareness of the many facets of Red Cross work, both in Australia and around the world, as well as creating interest in the organisation locally.
The window featured pictures, posters, and information on the Red Cross activities and some interesting snippets from the history of the branch.
Gulgong has a long history of supporting the Red Cross, the branch was started in August 1914 only a fortnight after the first branch started in Sydney.
New members are welcomed and needed, the next meeting will be held on June 9, 2017, if you’re interested call Helen on 6374 1445 for more information.
