This diagnosis was made after Will became incredibly sick and it commenced a life-time of doctors’ appointments, daily blood-sugar -readings and close monitoring.
Since then, Will’s parents, friends and family have passionately fundraised to help find a cure, and there’s no doubt that the community is right behind them.
The Rylstone Public School, which Will (8) and his brother Luke (5) attend, combined their annual cross country race with the ‘Type One Fun Run’, managing to raise a total of $3794.95 through the school and through on-line donations.
In their fifth year of the ‘Jelly Baby Breakfast BBQ & Cake Stall’, Rachel and her devoted volunteers managed to sell over 100 bacon and egg rolls.
They had hundreds of delicious cakes, slices and Mother’s Day gifts, raising a staggering $4969.55.
In total, $8764.50 was raised to help find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.
Rachel and Glen are delighted by the community’s support and which to extend a huge “Thank you” to all those who supported their fundraisers.
“We are overwhelmed to have the generous support of this wonderful community to be able to send every cent raised straight to research so they can find a cure for all children living with Type 1 diabetes.
We can then say we all played a part in that cure.”
