The tourist attraction has this week received replica gold bars from ABC Bullion Company, Australia's largest precious metal services group and manufacturer of the $175,000.00 18ct gold Melbourne Cup.
Gulgong Holtermann Museum Committee chairman Chris Pearson welcomed chief economist Jordan Eliseo on Monday, May 22 to present the bullion.
“The bars will add a new dimension to the educational side of the facility,” Mr Pearson said.
Gulgong Gold Experience's mission statement is to provide the story of Gulgong's heady gold rush days, through audio visual, 2D, 3D and interactive displays.
Gulgong's gold rush though short (1870-1875), provided great prosperity to NSW, and contributed much to the multicultural and economic growth of the state.
The facility which also boasts a replica tunnel and nearby original gold rush infrastructure, is nestled within scenic Red Hill, the site of the original gold strike in 1870.
