The small village and school at Lue were overflowing with colourful cars and characters, when the 2017 Variety Bash stopped for lunch on Friday.

Hundreds of participants in the annual charity event brought plenty of smiles and laughter to the students and community.
Lue Public School principal Caron McDonald said, “it’s certainly the most people I’ve seen here in my time at the school, I’m so blown away by all of your support and generosity, it really makes a difference to the kids at our school”.
Furthermore, for hosting the event the school received a series of donations of school resources.
“It’s a huge, huge bonus for a small school like ours, it’s fantastic. We’ve had almost $4000 worth of resources that we wouldn’t have got without Variety coming,” Mrs McDonald said.
It was the second last day of the 2017 event which went from Newcastle, Gilgandra, Cowra, Narrandera, Yass, Bathurst and Aberdeen and finished back in Newcastle. Variety helps children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.
