Active community members are being sought for the reinstatement of the Community Safety Committee, with a view to developing a plan for the installation of CCTV in the Mudgee CBD, particularly Byron Place and Mudgee Town Centre carparks.

The unanimous decision brought the group back as a Section 355 Committee of Council after a five year absence.
They are now seeking expressions of interest for Community Members on this Committee, a time frame for the monthly meetings has not yet been determined however they hope to commence the meetings in July or August.
In putting the call out, Cr Karavas said that the intentions of the group would not only be of interest to business houses located in the CBD, but also to the wider community.
“We’re seeking anybody with an interest in making the community a safer place,” he said.
