Presenting the cheque on Tuesday, representatives from the MCC explained “Philip and a long line of his family originate from Mudgee.”

“Philip regularly keeps up-to-date with what is happening in his home town by checking out the Mudgee Guardian online which is where he came across the opportunity to bid on the jersey. Philip still holds Mudgee close to his heart and in particular, has a deep respect for the wonderful work by the men and women at Mudgee hospital.”
Phillip was determined to secure the prize and raise money for the Hospital saying “I just want to thank Mudgee hospital as it was where my mother worked for 35 years.”
“She passed away at the hospital in 2013 and I will never forget the wonderful care that they gave her. And I will never forget the photos the nursing staff would leave over her bed – of her working at the hospital.”
