Member for Dubbo Troy Grant, listed the project, while being questioned on what he expects from next week’s budget (June 20) at a media conference in Dubbo on Tuesday.
“We understand it’s going to be very weighted towards regional NSW, and that’s because we’ve put the foundation work into our finances and we’ve mapped out the priorities in regional NSW that need to be invested in.”
“The headline investment for me in this budget is the Mudgee Hospital – to get that project cranking.”

“In relation to the Mudgee redevelopment funding – we made that announcement at the election, zero planning, zero studies had been undertaken to understand what was required in Mudgee, what it would look like and where it would go,” Mr Grant continued at the media conference.
“There has been two years, obviously since that announcement, and in that time we’ve undertaken clinical service planning, so we understand what services will be required. We’ve undertaken some initial master planning for that project as well.

“If you don’t plan these projects properly, you often get them wrong and that’s not something we’re prepared to do,” he continued.
“So we’re ready to go now, the rubber is ready to hit the road, we just need the budget to reflect that and I’ll be asking for a substantial funding commitment in this year’s budget, so that community will be able to see, tangibly, that promise come to life.”
