The premise is that you can order your groceries and shopping online and the store members will collect the items for you from the shelves, allowing you to come in and pick up the already collected goods.
The service is already available in Dubbo, Bathurst and even in towns half the size of Mudgee like Wellington, so residents are asking – why not us?
One resident, who has asked to remain anonymous, told the Mudgee Guardian that the Woolworths store manager promised the service for April, but when it was followed up in June, two months after the predicted date, it was revealed that ‘higher ups’ had canned it as they didn’t think there was demand for it.
However, residents beg to differ.
“Just because we live in the country doesn’t mean we don’t have busy lives and wouldn’t enjoy the same luxuries as other towns and cities,” the resident said.
“We can see how much interest is in it so we can go back to Woolies and Coles and show them there is demand for it.”
