Nine tries and 36 points is the contribution fullback Nathan Redding has made to his team in their last two games, scoring four against the Waratahs.
The Warriors continued their strong form, scoring 10 tries and eight conversions for their 56 points, to prove their benchmark status in the Midwest group.
The games at the weekend announced the halfway point of the competition, Wallerawang turning the corner on 14 points, followed by CSU on 12 and Villages United on 10.
Portland Colts were beaten 44-20 in their home game against CSU, and at Lithgow Sportsground the Orange Barbarians won a close game 24-20 over Lithgow Bears.
In league tag Kandos lost their second game in two weeks, going down to Wallerawang, the Warriettes claiming equal status with their men counterparts, leading their competition undefeated.
CSU Yellow defeated Portland Fillies 26-0 to claw a little closer to the top of the table, while the CSU Blue team also registered a win over Villagettes 22-4 for the university sides to claim a weekend clean sweep. Lithgow Bears were celebrating their first win with a 14-4 victory over Orange Barbies.
This Saturday Portland Colts will host ladder leaders Wallerawang at Kremer Park, the “old boys” game being played in conjunction with the round-eight match. A festive day is planned, and a raffle conducted with proceeds going to the Bender-Rushworth Cancer Walk. League tag has an amended start at 12.50pm, thence the “old boys” playing league tag, before the main match kicking off at 2.30pm.
Other New Era Midwest Cup matches are Lithgow Bears v Villages United and Orange Barbarians to play CSU, with league tag’s CSU Blue team to front Kandos Tiaratahs.
