Police are requesting assistance to identify the person pictured below.
It is believed the person may be able to assist with enquires into an incident which took place in Byron Place Car Park shortly before 6pm on Thursday, June 22.
PREVIOUS About 5.50pm on Thursday, June 22 a female was in the Byron Place car park after finishing her shopping. As she put her groceries into her car she was approached by a male who tried to grab her car keys from her hand. Unsuccessful, he demanded the car keys from the woman who refused. The male walked away.
About the same time Police received a number of calls about a male trying to gain access to vehicles in Byron Place.
The male is believed to have fled the scene when Police arrived. He was seen to run from Byron Place through the laneway to Market Street. The male ran across Market Street where he was narrowly missed by a vehicle. The man was last seen in Perry Street near Short Street.
The male is described as Caucasian, 30-40 years old, average build, dark blonde hair, wearing a red chequered flannelette shirt and a dark baseball cap.
