At about 9am on Wednesday morning (June 21, 2017) on Rocky Waterhole Road, Mudgee.
The overturned car left the road at the bridge rolling and came to rest upside down in the river, at the time there wasn’t much water flowing.
There were four people in the vehicle at the time, with one person trapped for a period of time.
Once they were released, they were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and conveyed to Westmead Hospital by the Toll Air Ambulance flight doctor and critical care paramedic.
They suffered a number of internal injuries.
Police, Mudgee Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mudgee firefighters, Ambulance NSW paramedics, air ambulance doctors, and Mudgee Headquarters Rural Fire Brigade volunteers, all attended.
The road was closed for approximately three hours while emergency services personnel worked on the scene.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash but don’t believe fog at the time was an issue, and it doesn’t appear as though other vehicles were involved.
