Red Baron are an adventure flight company and flying school based out of Bankstown in Sydney, who also teach aerobatics, with a focus on competition.
Three aircraft and about half a dozen competitors will be heading to Mudgee for the weekend.
Chief pilot Joel Haski – who has well in excess of 5000 aerobatic flight hours as well as experience in charter and aerial photography for film and television - said that they’re keen to get back to Mudgee after an enjoyable trip to the area last year.
“The NSW Championships are coming up later in the year, so we regularly hold training camps and last year we held one in Mudgee which was a huge success,” he said.
“We went on to have great results at the competition later that year so we decided to come back and do it again.
“Everyone who went had fun and Mudgee’s a beautiful area, so you didn’t have to twist anyone’s arm to go on the trip.
“The community were quite welcoming and we really enjoyed the atmosphere.”
Mr Haski specialises in advanced and competition aerobatic instruction when he’s not taking passengers on one of their Adventure Flights or performing air displays at major events.
If people want to experience the aerobatics there’s the possibility of taking a ride on the weekend.
You can contact Red Baron during the week – see www.redbaron.com.au or call Mr Haski on 0418 400 268 – to register their interest.
Mr Haski said that even though it’s not an air show, spectators will still get to see some spectacular technical aerobatics from state level competitors.
The pilots will be taking off and flying from around 9am each day.
Red Baron are aerobatic training specialists, located at Sydney’s Bankstown Metropolitan Airport and have been providing professional, private pilot, aerobatic and upset recovery training for over 30 years.
