We were very delighted with the viewing of this exhibition with approximately 400 people popping in to see the fabulous exhibits from Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Willow Tree, Blackheath and as far away as Kingaroy Qld as well as many of the members of Gulgong Arts Council.
Henrys School Art Prize Sponsored by Red Hill Environmental Education Centre, Gulgong Arts Council and Stacks Down Under was very successful with 18 school entries from Midwestern Regional Council area.
Hargraves Public School was judged as the winning school and Mudgee High School winning second prize.
Judge, Dean Mobbs of Dean Mobbs Gallery, Kepple Street Bathurst also donated his novel ‘The Expressionist’ and awarded this to Mudgee High School. Congratulations to all the schools that entered in its first year. It was great to see so many schools participating and the art work was simply amazing. Keep your eye out next year for the Henrys as this art prize will be again included in the annual Unearthed exhibition.
Judge, Dean Mobbs of Dean Mobbs Gallery, Kepple Street Bathurst donated another two of his novel ‘The Expressionist’ and awarded them to Michelle McFarlan for ‘Simple Meal’, Therese Wilkins for ‘A night in the Forest’. “Thank Dean Mobbs”.
