Within 12 minutes of the kick off the home side had scored three converted tries and were well in command and never really threatened, with Dunedoo’s only points in the game coming in the 71st minute by way of a converted try to Blake Taufa, but it was way too little too late and the Panthers triumphed 50 points to 6.
The Swans’ semi final aspirations also not helped by Baradine winning the battle of the Magpies against Trangie in Baradine, to keep themselves in the hunt for a semi final berth.
Fourth-placed Coonabarabran had to battle hard against a dogged Coolah Kangaroos team to claim the competition points.
Whilst the rugby league game at Gilgandra never reached any great heights, the same could not be said about the league tag encounter between the Pink Panthers and the Swannettes, the game going down to the wire.
In somewhat of a surprise the Pink Panthers recovered from being down six points to nil in the opening minute to score 22 unanswered points themselves before the break to make it 22 to 6 at half time.
The Swannettes were certainly not going to lay down and they scored converted tries in the 10th and 15th minute of the second half to set up a thrilling and frantic final ten minutes with the scoreboard reading 22 to 18.
That was to be the final score, the loss being only the second time this year that the Swanettes have tasted defeat and despite the loss they still lead the competition.
Other League Tag games saw Warren too strong for Gulgong and Baradine keeping the semi final chances alive with a win over Trangie.
Round 15 of Castlereagh League will be highlighted by the rugby league clash at Gulgong when the third placed Terriers host first placed Gilgandra, the home side will undoubtedly be out to become the first team to down the Panthers in season 2017.
