The Colts’ men scored 12 tries in their 52 to 10 win over Kandos Waratahs, dominating all facets of play, with Kandos skipper Nathan Annetts scoring twice for his side.
However in the League Tag the Kandos Tiara-Tahs were winners 12 to 8 over Portland.
In the men’s comp the top three clubs, Wallerawang, CSU and Villages, are assured of finals games and, with Portland’s win and an easier run into the semi-finals, the Colts will almost certainly take fourth position to the end of the regular season, while fifth spot on the table will be contested by Orange and Kandos, both on eight points.
Villages, sitting five competition points behind leaders Wallerawang, are hopeful they maintain the composure from their game against Orange Barbarians, trusting it is an omen coming into this week’s match-of-the-round against in-form CSU.
Hosting the visiting Barbarians, Villages powered home to take the points and in Wallerawang the Warriors, even without three of their top players, beat Lithgow Bears and maintain top spot on the ladder.
