Rich, Harvey and Menchin cut it fine to win the triples championship.

Both the semi-finals and finals for club triples were played last Saturday at the Mudgee Bowling Club.

On Saturday morning Baskerville, May and Douglas were defeated by Farrell, Brook and Clark in a 28-17 victory.

The other semi final saw Rich, Harvey and Menchin down Underwood, Woolard and Byrnes 26-13 to book their place in the grand final of the afternoon.

The scene was set, with Rich’s team jumping out of the boxes early and giving themselves a dominant 12-4 lead early in the match.

Their ascendancy was halted however, as Farrell’s team bounced back to a 17-13 lead two-thirds of the way through the decider.

It was a tight finish for both teams however, with the final score in the tournament’s closing match 24-23.

It was Rich, Harvey and Menchin that lifted the trophy at the end of the scintillating match, and were named new Club Triples Champions.
