Six psychics from as far as Brisbane, Nambucca Heads, Orange, Mudgee, Dubbo and the Hunter Valley added an extra element of enjoyment to an afternoon of delicious food and fun in the gracious old-world atmosphere of the 102-year-old hall. Guests were transported to a bygone era with gracious vintage table settings while having the opportunity to look to the future with consultations with the psychics during the afternoon.
The psychics provided a range of readings using skills including clairvoyance, psychometry, cartomancy, sharmanic healing and tea leaf reading.
Located in the historic village of Cobbora, just outside Dunedoo, Cobbora Hall has been lovingly and meticulously restored by owners Penny Stevens and Rob Ingram, who also own the Old Cobbora Courthouse. The hall is now playing host to a new generation of guests who appreciate its rustic charms.
Cobbora Hall’s Penny Stevens said, “As people face an uncertain future, they are finding that most of their happiest personal associations belong in the past, and are searching for social interactions that take them there. Nostalgia for past times, when pleasures were simpler, is what attracts people to events in a setting such as this. The bonus of providing a glimpse to the future proved to be an irresistible combination.”
Rachel Jackson attended the event saying, “We very much enjoyed the high tea”.
“It was a beautiful event not far from Mudgee to travel for the day at Cobbora Hall which has been beautifully restored. The high tea was beautifully set up with all the vintage glamour,” she said.
“Can't wait to do it again and hopefully enjoy more events at the Cobbora Hall.”
