Police officers from Mudgee Local Area Command will investigate the suspected murder of a woman on Friday night.
Mudgee police will be supported by homicide squad detectives.
Police were called to an address in Olinda, south-east of Mudgee, just after 10pm on Friday.
They found the body of a 76-year-old woman at the property.
It’s believed she was shot and a crime scene has been established.
Investigators are examining if the woman’s death could be domestic-related.
Meanwhile, a search was mounted for the whereabouts of a 76-year-old man known to the woman.
The body of a man was located at Lue about 9.40am.
He is yet to be formally identified.
At this stage his death is not believed to be suspicious but inquiries are continuing.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about either incident to contact them via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner in relation to both matters.
