Lue Public welcomed six fellow small schools on Friday for a combined Education and NAIDOC Week event.

Students from Lue, Hargraves, Ulan, Goolma, Wollar, Hill End, and Glen Alice public schools came together.
They had lessons in Aboriginal artifacts, Wiradjuri language words and songs, dot painting and art, as well as Indigenous games through the NSW Sports Commission, and a bush tucker barbecue – cooked by Bowdens Silver – featuring kangaroo and crocodile sausages, and damper cooked over fire.
Cudgegong Valley Public School opened their doors for Education Week, which coincides with the school hosting an exhibition of the creative works of the region’s public school students.
The school held open classrooms for parents and family to join their children, the focus this year was on Science and Technology.
‘I Learn, We Learn’ is the theme of Education Week 2017 and celebrates commitment to ensuring; system-wide improvement; a culture of high expectations; personalised student learning; wellbeing; and creating stronger ties with local communities.
The school also hosted the annual Cudgegong Learning Community (CLC) Art Show, showcasing a variety of mediums in creative arts, from CVPS, Mudgee High School, Gulgong, Mudgee, Ulan, Ilford, Hargraves, and Lue public schools.
