The annual running festival will be held at Lawson Park on Sunday, August 20, and is still expecting registrations to continue growing as the date approaches.
According to race director Rowan Rowlands, the recent NSW Regional Running Championships have caused entries to jump on the same time last year.
“Numbers are way up on last year in all races except the marathon which is a little under at this stage,” Rowan said.
“The five kilometre registrations typically all come in at the last minute, and we are thrilled with the increase in numbers for the half marathon this year.”
As of Tuesday afternoon, over 500 runners had already registered for the annual festival, with online registrations expected to increase dramatically in the final week leading up to the event.
This year also sees a change of course for the 10km event, with runners able to have a look at the change details online, while the rest of the events remain the same.
The event organisers encourage people from all walks of life and all skill levels to come and get involved in the event, and promises a colourful spectacle due to the regular costumes and fancy dress that often graces the event.
Runners must comply with the rules of racing in the marathon and half marathon events where cut off times will apply.
Runners can register online at www.mudgeerunningfestival until 6pm on Thursday, August 17, or at Lawson Park on Saturday, August 19, between 3-5pm.
