Polota-Nau is one of six Western Force representatives in a 34-man Wallabies squad who are still coming to terms with the Australian Rugby Union's decision to axe them from Super Rugby.

Although RugbyWA has launched an appeal in the Supreme Court of NSW, the thought that the Force could cease to exist next year has impacted players privately.

But worrying about things out of his control is something Polota-Nau has made clear he cannot afford to do, for if he is not 100 per cent committed to the task of upsetting the All Blacks, then he would be doing a disservice to those alongside him in a gold jersey.

"I've managed to encapsulate that [emotion] but also move it to the side," Polota-Nau told Fairfax Media. "I'm fully focused on this. The last thing I need is any external circumstances to interfere because with the preparation I can't be individually analysing my emotions when there's a team goal this Saturday. I've just moved on from that.

"What supersedes it is we've got a Test this week. There's external circumstances that are going around. Adam [Coleman] and Dane [Haylett-Petty] spoke about it on Monday and nailed it on the head. We've just got to move on with the job."

The 32-year-old, who does not have a contract for next season with the Force, said he was considering all his options.

He did, however, indicate he wanted to stay in the west despite the likelihood the club will be booted from Super Rugby next year.

"I'm hoping I can stick around," Polota-Nau said. "I'll have to reassess for the time being because at the moment I'm glad the injunction is there but I can't really focus on it now.

"Once we get away from these Tests I'll discuss it then."

Polota-Nau said the fitness sessions he teammates completed over the past month have been the hardest he has ever encountered in his professional career.

The Wallabies may have won just one of their past 16 matches against the All Blacks dating back to 2011 but Polota-Nau truly believes the pain of recent training will be worth it.

"It hurt a lot but it'll be even better once we come out victorious," Polota-Nau said. "That's the train of thought coming into it.

"Those gorilla walks turned out to be quite the challenge. The pain will be worth it with end goal of hopefully raising that Bledisloe trophy.

"I can't wait to get out there because I'm more than confident in my ability."

Polota-Nau is likely to be the Wallabies' starting hooker on Saturday, having taken over from Stephen Moore in the first two Tests of the year against Fiji and Scotland.

Moore was brought into Australia's starting XV to take on Italy but it was in this match the Wallabies had some noticeable problems at scrum-time.

They can ill-afford to put in a sub-par performance this time up against a formidable All Blacks front row looking to prove a point after underperforming in the recent British and Irish Lions series.

Polota-Nau said Australia's forwards were aiming to get on the front foot and assert early dominance at the set piece.

"Watching their previous encounters against the Lions, it's no mucking about," Polota-Nau said. "They like to get the ball in and out straight away. Hopefully we can create some disruption there. Even the lineouts, we've got to be eager to get there before they do."
