Running a small retail business can often be challenging and success is built upon a foundation of dedication, drive, passion, resilience, flexibility and a genuine care for customers.
These building blocks have served Darryl and Phillipa Adams well, the married couple set to celebrate a rare retail milestone this September: 50 years at the helm of their electronics business.
Phillipa, 76, and Darryl, 79, began their journey in 1967, deciding to buy the business Darryl was working for and go out on their own.

“Electronics is the love of his life,” she said. “Well, except for me!
“Darryl has always loved helping people solve their technical problems, show them how to hook things up and get the most out of their products. And he still builds things today.”
Phillipa has always been Darryl’s “right-hand man”, looking after the bookwork and administration.
